Mongolia extends Visa-Free access for 34 countries until 2027

Mongolia has extended its visa-free access for tourists from 34 countries until the end of 2026, according to the Mongolia’s Immigration Agency (MIA) on December 31, 2025.

Individuals holding ordinary passports from these countries, including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Hungary and New Zealand, who come to Mongolia for tourism purposes are eligible for visa-free entry for no more than 30 days, it added.

Reaffirming its commitment to maintaining an open and tourism-friendly policy, the Mongolian authorities have decided to continue the "Years to Visit Mongolia" tourism program until 2028 to promote the development of four-season tourism in the country.

The visa exemption policy was first introduced in 2023 as a temporary measure to encourage tourism and improve international relations. With the success of the initiative, the government has decided to extend the policy, making it a more long-term feature of Mongolia’s tourism landscape.

Mongolia’s visa-free program is designed to encourage short-term tourism, business visits, and cultural exchanges. The 34 countries that benefit from this exemption include:

European Union countries: Germany, France, the UK, Spain, Italy, Sweden, and more

Asian countries: Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand

North American countries: United States, Canada, Mexico

Other countries: Australia, New Zealand, and a select number of others.
