Mongolian art on show at 'Wolf Loving Princess'

Art lovers are invited to experience the poetic and speculative world of a Mongolian artist during "Wolf Loving Princess", which is running at Gallery Ver until April 25.

This is the first solo exhibition in Thailand by Tuguldur Yondonjamts, who introduces a new body of works that invite viewers to reflect on the threshold between the tamed and the untamed world.

They are developed as an imaginative investigation into the relationships between life, language, mythology and dreams, with the animal realm serving as a central source of inspiration.

The exhibition features works across multiple media, including artist books, paintings, sculptures, video installations and sound. Through a semi-fictional process of translation -- incorporating ancient Mongolian script and animal writing, binary code and English -- the artist bridges the human world with invisible realms.

A key conceptual starting point is the reinterpretation of the names Sarah and Connor as "princess" and "wolf-loving" which unfolds into the central narrative of the exhibition. The show also features significant series including Falcon (2011), previously exhibited at the Singapore Art Museum, and "Serpent", his longest-running project, continuously developed since 2015 and held in the Kadist collection. The 49-year-old approaches art-making as a process of imaginative investigation. His art practice often manifests as complex visual systems that integrate maps, field notes, narratives and symbolic elements.
